Core Courses Offered in 2011-2012

 

  1. Ethics of Jewish Living --  We are faced with myriad ethical dilemmas, from animal experimentation to end of life issues, from how to show respect to our parents  to environmental issues. What do Jewish thinkers -- from our ancient sages to today's commentators -- tell us about conducting ourselves in public and private?

  2. Dramas of Jewish Living -- What are the lessons of Jewish history? How do the turning points in Jewish history influence our lives today? The comprehensive history course starts from th earliest wanderings of Abraham to the turmoil in Israel today.

 Morning classes: 10-12:15 noon at Beth Emeth Bais Yehudah Synagogue, 100 Elder Street.

Tuition is $600.00 for both courses, and can be spread over three months.

There is a $40.00 book fee for entering students.
